About Steven Tobeck: A Journey Through Music
From High School to HANGFIRE
Steven Tobeck’s musical story began in 1970, when he first picked up the bass guitar and started playing in a high school band called Silver Train. What started as a teenage passion quickly grew into a lifelong pursuit. By 1975, Steven had moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where he joined The Rockles, a band that would go on to open for legendary acts such as Heart, Dr. Hook, Lee Michaels, and even The Ramones. This era gave Steven valuable stage experience and solidified his place in the regional music scene.
In 1980, Steven decided to step away from The Rockles to explore new musical opportunities. Over the following years, he played in a number of cover bands, each performance sharpening his versatility and musical expression.

But Steven's strength and determination carried him through. This harrowing experience only deepened his resilience and gave him a fresh perspective on life. Rather than letting adversity silence his music, he chose to push forward.
